Switzerland
One of the big trips I was excited to take last year in May was a trip to Switzerland. I was excited to see ice capped mountains, surrounded by lush greenery, and beautiful lakes- the country did not disappoint!
My boyfriend and I flew into Zurich and spent the day walking around the city and stopping to admire the Grossmunster cathedral and Fraumunster. We also visited the Swiss National Museum and took a stroll around Lake Zurich.
After spending a day in Zurich we took a train to Lucerne. The first thing we did was take a boat right around Lake Lucerne which was gorgeous with beautiful swans everywhere. We walked under the covered Kapellbruke bridge and discovered a lift that took us to a restaurant with an amazing view of the city. We also visited the Lion Monument, dedicated to fallen war heroes.
My favorite part of the trip was taking a train to Stans. While in Stans, we took an open air tram up into the mountains. The weather was perfect and the view was better than I could have imagined.
Switzerland is definitely one of my favorite countries I have visited in Europe. From Switzerland, we took a train into Lake Como and Milan, Italy which will be discussed in another post :)
